We believe that CBSE is not only an institution but a progressive educational philosophy of India and its directions must be sincerely adhered to. With this in view, the School authorities regularly visit the CBSE website to keep themselves abreast with its latest circulars, guidelines, policies and procedures, etc.

Immediate and scrupulous attention is paid on CBSE letters received from time to time and the spirit of compliance is reflected by the school management.

Some major CBSE initiatives followed by Euro School Nadiad

Since inception of the school our teachers are strictly monitored and we have no cases of any sort of punishments for our students. Teachers are strictly advised not to punish, harass, hit or morally humiliate any child. The school rather promotes an encouraging atmosphere where students are invited to solve their problems, if any, with consultation. To this effect, the school has the Administrator Mrs Bhavisha Patel and the Principal Mrs.Pervin Watchmaker,to give moral advice to children and help them avert unwanted behavioral patterns and develop positive attitudes in the children.

In light of CBSE’s continuous thrust on promoting religious tolerance and communal harmony, Euro School Nadiad continues to instill in the students a respect for “unity in diversity”. The students celebrate festivals of different religions at school.

We also follow the CCE pattern of CBSE (Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation)

Continuous and comprehensive evaluation is an education system newly introduced by Central Board of Secondary Education in India, for students of sixth to tenth grades and twelfth in some schools. The main aim of CCE is to evaluate every aspect of the child during their presence at the school. This is believed to help reduce the pressure on the child during/before examinations as the student will have to sit for multiple tests throughout the year, of which no test or the syllabus covered will be repeated at the end of the year, whatsoever. The CCE method is claimed to bring enormous changes from the traditional chalk and talk method of teaching, provided it is implemented accurately.

As a part of this new system, student’s marks will be replaced by grades which will be evaluated through a series of curricular and extra-curricular evaluations along with academics. The aim is to reduce the workload on students and to improve the overall skill and ability of the student by means of evaluation of other activities. Grades are awarded to students based on work experience skills, dexterity, innovation, steadiness, teamwork, public speaking, behavior, etc. to evaluate and present an overall measure of the student’s ability. This helps the students who are not good in academics to show their talent in other fields such as arts, humanities, sports, music, athletics,

CCE has helped us in improving student’s performance by identifying his/her learning difficulties at regular time intervals right from the beginning of the academic session and employing suitable remedial measures for enhancing their learning performance. The scheme of continuous and comprehensive evaluation has an inbuilt flexibility to plan our own academic schedules as per specified guidelines on CCE.The outcomes by this method were projected to be better that the rote learning of the previous system which placed an undue emphasis on memory and facts instead of understanding and creating a learning environment.

As per the CBSE norms, we also have the “Life Skills” introduced in our school. The Life Skills programme is a school based programme where Life Skills are imparted in a supportive learning environment. They are applicable forall ages of children and adolescents in school. However, the age group targeted is mainly 10-18, adolescent years, since young people of this agegroup seem to be most vulnerable to behaviour related health problems. The programme is for the promotion of health and well-being and targeted groupis all children.

Different methods can be used to enhance Life Skills in students. This academic year, we should have some workshops for students in the form of :

  • Class discussions
  • Brainstorming
  • Demonstration and guided practice
  • Role plays
  • Audio and visual activities, e.g, arts, music, theatre, dance
  • Small groups
  • Educational games and stimulations
  • Case studies
  • Story telling
  • Debates
  • Decision mapping or problem trees

The school will continue to imbibe the educational philosophy of the CBSE in the years to come.………Marching towards Progress…………..
